Customs Paperwork

Pro Forma Invoice

All consignments to non EU countries, including the Channel Islands must be accompanied by a Pro Forma Invoice. The Pro Forma Invoice confirms the origin, description, value and intended use of the goods to be delivered. Four copies of the Pro Forma Invoice must accompany all consignments to enable the goods to be cleared through customs without delay.

Authorisation for Temporary Importation of Goods (Repairs, Calibration or Loan) from the Channel Islands

All goods imported into the UK from non EU Countries including the Channel Islands are subject to import VAT and Duty. Where a Customer needs to return goods from the Channel Islands for repairs, calibration or loan they will need to complete an Authorisation for Temporary Importation of Goods (Repairs) form. Four copies of the form must accompany all consignments to enable the goods to be cleared through customs without delay.

Carriage of Dangerous Goods

As Skylink Delivery Company is not an ADR licensed carrier we are only permitted to carry Dangerous Goods that are officially classed as ‘Limited Quantities’ or otherwise officially ‘exempt’ as described by current legislation applicable during transit. Any exception to this must be authorised by the Skylink Delivery Company Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser in every case.

The ‘Shipper’, Consignor, or sender of the goods bears legal responsibility for notifying Skylink Delivery Company of their intention to dispatch Dangerous Goods as well as correctly identifying, packaging, marking and labelling all consignments containing Dangerous Goods according to the requirements of the Laws applicable in transit. Failure to do so may constitute a statutory offence.

‘Limited Quantity’ package marks are a neutral colour diamond shape (minimum size 100mmx100mm) containing the Specific UN number for the substance preceded by the letters ‘UN’. Where items of different UN Numbers are shipped in the same package, the shipper may label the package either with individual diamond shapes indicating each UN number, or a single large diamond shape containing all of the UN Numbers. UN numbers must always be preceded by the letters ‘UN’.

Skylink Delivery Company will accept substances officially classed as ‘Limited Quantities’ and below are a few illustrations of some of the many ‘Limited Quantity’ labels accepted. There are many more and each substance will have its own specific UN number.
