Selling on Craigslist is different

Although we sell on eBay and Craigslist, both marketplaces are different. Craigslist does not have listing fees, templates to choose from and the listings last between 7 and 45 days. The add placed on Craigslist has a fixed price, so you can not bid on it, the price is the one listed and it usually is negotiable. On most cases the shipping fees are already included in the price of sale. That makes our selling policy different.

The process

The process is absolutely FREE! for buyers, all fees associated to any transaction is deducted from our commission.

On Craigslist, the seller lists the item for sale and answer questions from potential buyers. After an agreement is reached, the Buyer must Register on our website. If a new price is negotiated with the seller, it must be specified in the Registration Form as the "Purchase Price". After registration, we will contact the seller and verify if all the information is accurate. An invoice will be sent to the Buyers e-mail address provided in the registration form. This information will be kept private as stated in our Privacy Policy.

After the buyer receive the merchandise and the 10 days allowed for inspection expires, the buyer must send the payment to an iConsign Depot account. When the payment details are verified and confirmed, the title transfer process will start and the item will be transfered on your behalf.

Down Payments

For transactions under $10000 we require the full payment before the shipping process starts. For transactions over $10000, we can accept down payments depending on the selling price:

However, the seller and buyer can negotiate any down payments under $10000. If accepted, the seller must contact and notify us.

Shipping and Guarantees

When a customer wants to sell an item on Craigslist, he can drop the items to one of our stores or have us pick up the item as described on the Large Item Service or iConsign Depot at Home.
Items sold on Craigslist are not available for pickup from our locations, only the items sold through eBay can be picked up. All the items sold through Craigslist are being held in our warehouses. We know that this is not an advantage so we offer a 10 Day Money Back Guarantee for all items sold through Craigslist. When we receive the items we inspect them, make sure they work properly and in case of a vehicle sale, we verify the miles, hours and then verify the description listed by the seller online to see if these information fit. Only then the item is approved and eligible for the 10 Day Money Back Guarantee. The shipping fees are a little higher for items sold on Craigslist, but the seller can obtain a higher price selling on Craigslist where there are no listing and transaction fees. Those fees will be established when the seller drops the item at our stores depending on the seller preferences.

The shipping is FREE for items sold on Craigslist. When the seller lists the item for sale, the price listed will also include the shipping fees. So if you are buying something from Craigslist, the price listed is the total price the buyer will pay, there are no hidden fees.

Payment methods accepted

We accept any kind of payment: Credit Card, Check, PayPal, Money Order, Wire Transfer, Bank Transfer and Money Gram. However, the payment method chosen for transactions made on Craigslist depends on the seller preferences. For example if the seller can accept only PayPal, we must receive the payment from the buyer only by PayPal.
